Uth Chal

This song was born out of a quiet reflection on John 5:2–9 - the story of the man who lay beside the Pool of Bethesda for 38 years.

What struck my heart was not just the miracle, but the waiting. The years. The silence. The helplessness of watching others step ahead. The weight of disappointment that slowly becomes normal.

I began imagining what that man must have felt lying there day after day — surrounded by people, yet utterly alone. No helper. No advocate. No one to carry him into the water.

And then Jesus steps into the scene.

Not with noise. Not with spectacle. But with a question. “Do you want to be healed?”

That question felt deeply personal. It felt like a question Jesus still asks today beyond physical healing, beyond circumstances into the places where hope has quietly died.

The lyrics began flowing from that tension: years of burden, broken breath, fading expectation… and then the moment of decision  choosing faith when His voice calls.

“Uth, chal.”

Not just a command to walk. A command to rise. To pick the mat. To step into restored identity.

May this song remind you - No waiting season is unseen. No burden is unnoticed. And when Jesus speaks, everything changes.
